Cala Violina is one of the most fascinating beaches along the Tuscan coastline, perfect for camping, characterised by fine white sand and crystal-clear water. Reachable only on foot or by boat, it is a magical corner of Tuscany - pure and heavenly.
This cove, an inlet that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Maremma wood, is known for the quartz grains that make up its sand, which when you walk over produce a sound reminiscent of a violin.

In Cala Violina there are no beach clubs because the beach, overlooking the Mediterranean scrubland, is not very big and can only be reached on foot, by boat, mountain bike or horseback.
In the Mediterranean pine forest, however, it is not hard to find a suitable campsite for your holiday, whether in a tent, campervan, caravan or silverfield. It takes around 30 minutes of trekking through the undergrowth to reach the crystal-clear waters of Cala Violina and its wonderful panorama. The path starts just behind the beach.
For an even more alternative and adventurous holiday you can reach Cala Violina on horseback, for a relaxing afternoon walk, or get on your mountain bike starting from the Puntone side towards the Portiglioni barrier. On foot you can choose a simpler route, starting from the car park which can be reached along the SP 158. We suggest that you arrive at the car park early in the morning, as there is limited parking for both motorcycles and cars.
