Swimtrekking Camp Concluded: Young Volunteers in Action for the Sea at PuntAla

The latest Swimtrekking camp organized at PuntAla Camp & Resort has successfully come to an end.

Since the end of June, about 100 young swimmers have taken part in six weeks of activities combining sport, environmental education, and civic engagement. Swimtrekking, created by ASD Swimtrekking and affiliated with UISP, is a sport that blends sea swimming with the exploration and protection of the marine environment.

Under the banner of Legambiente, the young volunteers actively contributed to cleaning the coastlines, collecting floating waste during their swims along the shore, and participating in monitoring sessions of local marine species: jellyfish, turtles, sea walnuts, and even dolphins. All this was guided by experienced educators and environmental technicians.

A formative and engaging experience that conveyed important values of respect and protection of the sea not only to the participants but also to the many beachgoers who saw them in action.
