Sparviero SUP Challenge – Memorial Sara D’Apolito | Punta Ala, 6–7 June 2026

On 6 and 7 June 2026, the beach of PuntAla Camp & Resort will host the Sparviero SUP Challenge – Memorial Sara D’Apolito, the fifth stop of the Italian SUP Race and Paddleboard Championship FISSW.
Now in its fourth edition, the event has become a regular highlight of the resort’s sports season and will bring to Punta Ala some of the best Italian athletes, racing in the Sprint, Relay and Distance formats of SUP Race, as well as in the Paddleboard event, where athletes paddle lying on the board, without using a paddle.
Organised by Punta Ala Sup Experience ASD, the Stand Up Paddle association and water sports centre based inside the resort, the Sparviero SUP Challenge is deeply connected to the memory of Sara D’Apolito, athlete and instructor who tragically passed away in 2021. The Memorial was created to keep alive her energy, her smile and the passion Sara shared with everyone who approached this sport.
The event takes its name from the Isolotto dello Sparviero, one of the most recognisable landmarks on the skyline of the PuntAla Camp & Resort beach. When sea conditions allow, the Distance Racecourse heads towards the islet, following a route parallel to the coast that takes the athletes all the way around it.
For spectators, it will be a chance to experience a national-level event up close: starts, race passages and finishes will take place right in front of the resort’s equipped beach, giving guests the chance to follow the action directly from their sunbed, under their beach umbrella, with the Island of Elba in the background.
A weekend that reflects the sporting soul of PuntAla Camp & Resort: for two days, the beach becomes an open-air race arena, and guests can enjoy the atmosphere of a national competition from the inside, with all the resort services close at hand.
