Formula 18 Italian Championship | Punta Ala | September 17–20, 2026

From September 17 to 20, PuntAla Camp & Resort will host the Formula 18 National Championship, the most anticipated event on the Italian calendar for high-performance catamarans, where the Italian National Title will be awarded.

For PuntAla Camp & Resort, the Formula 18 is the class closest to our heart. It is with this class that the story of Centro Velico Punta Ala began: in 2004, Punta Ala hosted the F18 World Championship, the first major international sailing event ever organized within the resort. Since then, the bond with the Formula 18 class has never been broken. Almost every year, Punta Ala hosts an F18 regatta, thanks in large part to the passion of Thomas Andrew Daddi, owner of PuntAla Camp & Resort and President of Centro Velico Punta Ala.

For four days, our beach will come alive with catamarans, colourful sails and the best crews from across Italy. The resort will transform into a small sailing village, where athletes, families and supporters share the same spaces—from the beach and restaurants to the Beach Bar and sunset aperitifs.

Guests staying at PuntAla Camp & Resort during those days will be able to enjoy the spectacle directly from the beach. Watching the boats being rigged, launched and raced at high speed is all part of the experience. The breathtaking downwind runs of the F18s will take place just a few metres from the sun umbrellas, with Elba Island on the horizon and the colours of the Tuscan Maremma all around.

September is perhaps one of the most beautiful times of the year to visit Punta Ala: the sea is still warm, the days are long, the crowds have thinned, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. The perfect excuse for one last seaside getaway and the chance to discover these stunning catamarans up close—boats that many sailors consider the true “Formula 1 of the sea.”
